Personal History
Dennis Walaker is a man who has had many achievements in his life. In 1959 he graduated from Leonard High School, which is in Cass Country North Dakota. He then went on to attend North Dakota State University in Fargo. Walaker has a wife, Mary Walaker, who is a retired teacher. They have two children together and two grandsons. Family is an important part of Walaker's life. Someone that Walaker really seemed to admire and look up to was his grandfather. He quoted his grandfather during our interview a few times. His grandfather even seemed to have an affect on his political outlook and career. He laughed as he used his grandfather's quote "it should be a democratic legislature and republican governor."
